How to Create Engaging Content and Earn Bonus Points

Hello Influencers,

The new year will be here before you know it and we’re here to help our wonderful Influencers learn more about earning those coveted bonus points just for creating top-notch content in the community!

The Toluna Team scours the community every single day for the absolute best posts that really get our brains thinking! When we see this super awesome content, we give you some bonus points. Who doesn’t like earning extra points just for having an interesting conversation?

I know you may be wondering… what exactly constitutes as engaging content? We are here to give you some top tips!

How to Create Engaging Content:

  1. Content should be thought-provoking and induce a conversation among one another. Is it a trending news topic? Is it a life long mystery of the world? If it is a question that makes you really think – then post it!
  2. It must be a Poll or Topic. As much as we love our Thumbs and Battles, we will no longer be giving bonus points to that type of content. We want to know your thoughts so we will only be rewarding content that includes a written response.
  3.  Include a picture or video in your post to make it look more appealing. That “wow” factor can go a long way from pushing your content from the “recent” to “popular” section of our site.

If your content meets these requirements, we’ll give it a “rank up” meaning it will appear in the popular stream, and you will also receive bonus points for this. It can be anywhere from 100-1000 points. You will also receive a written notification on your wall like the one below letting you know that you received this bonus.

BONUS:
We also are looking for fantastic OPINIONS left on other’s topics. Yep, you read that correctly…. you can even earn bonus points for leaving a thoughtful response to someone else’s question.

School Is In Session – Topic Contest

School is officially in session! What would you teach if you were head of the class? An advanced course in knitting? Are you a master at crossword puzzles? An expert pastry chef?

Share your special skill in a TOPIC and teach us something new to earn 1,000 points.

The Rules:

  1. Create a TOPIC on what you would teach if you were head of the class
  2. The title must contain “School is in Session“
  3. Your topic must have a minimum of 100 words

Daily Theme – November 15th, 2017

Hello influences!

Thanksgiving is almost here, and with it we’re very sure each of you has a lot of family traditions that you are doing year after year. These traditions maybe help keep your family together, or maybe, they just bring a lot of joy and delight to each and ever member of your family.

This week’s daily theme is going to take from that and ask you to post a topic or a poll about traditions where you share your thoughts on how traditions help, why they are important, or maybe the opposite. You can even look at the three examples below and use them if they help.

  • What are some strange foreign customs that you have heard of? Are there any
    customs in your country visitors might find strange?
  • When people from other countries think about your culture, what do they usually
    think of?
  • What do you like about your culture? What don’t you like about your culture?

Here’s how this will work:

– Add your thoughts on the matter

– You must include a photo or video in your content

– You will receive a bonus on your content for 1000 points.

Daily Theme – November 8th, 2017

Hello, Influencers!

We’ve got some food for thought bites for you and we figured why not relate it to the Daily Theme this week. Let’s talk Shopping- Black Friday is almost here isn’t it. Our collective wallets are going to start yelling out for help, hehe!

So tell us what do you think about the following 4 statements:

  • It’s entirely possible to take care of many of your style and comfort needs with a trip to a local thrift shop and a little ingenuity. Living well does not require excessive consumerism.
  • Know where and how things are made before you spend your hard-earned money on them. This doesn’t reward impulse shopping–it rewards homework and mindful decision-making.
  • Be willing to pay more for something well-made that will last longer. Your cost per wearing is far lower than if you buy cheap crap that wears out quickly, and that extra cost most likely also represents a living wage for the person who made your purchase and better quality materials that will hold up to repeated wearings.
  • If you buy something you don’t think looks absolutely great on you, down the road you’ll pass over it every time you go to the closet. Save your money for the cute stuff and the classics. Since you’ll wear them more, you want good quality, and if you buy fewer things you can afford better ones; see bullet point above.
