Technical
How long until our points expire?
Points expire exactly 1 year after they are posted to your account. For example, if you earn 1000 points today from a survey, and do not use these 1000 points by March 27th, 2016, they will be deducted from your account.
The points that expire are only the ones earned through contests? How about the one earned by surveys?
All points expire, whether you earn them through a contest, a survey, or if they are credited to your account.
How do you delete notifications?
Notification will disappear after you click the globe and scroll through all the messages.
Where can I find a referral link for my account?
To refer or invite a friend to Toluna.com, go to Account, then Sharing Preferences.
Content & Social Media
Do you also earn points when you create your own polls, etc ?
Yes you can potentially earn points by creating content such as polls, battles, thumb its, and topics. These are not guaranteed but the TolunaTeam monitors the community and will “rank up” content that qualifies, which can be 100-1000 points.
If you post content but no one wants to participate or answer your question, do you still get points? For example, if you post in the Music Vs. Battle, but few or no people answer it – (assuming the content was relevant and not filled with mistakes) then does that mean that you don’t get points?
The amount of participants in your content does not affect whether or not you will receive points. As long as you are grammatically correct, use images or videos, and adhere to the Toluna Code of Conduct you are eligible for points. If this question is in regards to “rank up” bonuses, we cannot guarantee a rank up bonus to every quality piece of content. Rank ups are given to a select amount of members per day. In a contest setting, votes only count if the contest specifies this as a qualification.
Can you subscribe to the blog and know when there are updates on there?
Our blog is hosted on WordPress, so you can absolutely subscribe to our blog if you have a WordPress. I believe you can also subscribe to our RSS feed, there is a link to do this on the top of our blog
Rewards & Gifties
Hi. Any plan of introducing Paypal rewards for lesser points, because accumulating 50,000 points is not so easy and not many other reward options are available.
Unfortunately, for the foreseeable future, Paypal will remain at the threshold presented.
What is a Giftie?
Gifties are a virtual gift that you can send to yourself, or a friend. They represent real products. You exchange a small amount of points for the virtual item, and at the same time play for a chance to win the real item. The winner is determined by a computer algorithm that chooses random winners
Surveys
All surveys ask the same age, sex zip code etc, can that be improved?
We are actually working to improve this feature so that we can save your information for screening questions. In the meantime, we apologize for having to repeat your demographic information before entering a survey.
I took a survey today and completed it in its entirety. However, at the end I received a message that the survey quota was full.
If you receive a message “quota full” and you spent a good deal of time, please contact our help desk so that we can look into this for you.
Test Products & Other
For example in a #TolunaGo contest, Toluna will evaluate the creativity or the winner will be simply by random?
Instagram and Twitter monthly theme contests are based on 3 requirements: (1) you must follow our Twitter or Instagram account. (2) you must use #tolunago and take a picture consistent with the theme (3) the picture must be posted within the time frame of that month. We pick a winner randomly and check to be sure they have followed the requirements.
How do I participate in test products?
Go to the “Test Products” page under the “Explore” tab and pick which product you would like to test. Once you have completed the sign-up process you will be added to the randomized list and, if selected, you will receive the product directly in the mail.
Do you get points for product testing as well?
Yes you do earn points for product testing, the amount depends on the study.
Is product testing ever available in Canada?
We are currently working on product testing for Canada.
Question about product testing: where and how can I give feedback on the product?
When you are selected to test a product, you will be given instructions on how to proceed with feedback.
