Last week we held three very successful sessions of the Toluna Beginners Webinar. So far your feedback has been great. As promised, I would answer all of your questions here on the blog for your reference. Those who attended were rewarded the 500 point bonus last Friday. November 6, 2pm

  1. Are we able to private message anyone in the community?
    1. At this time we do not have a private messaging feature for community members, however that is a great idea and we will consider it for our next website update.
  2. Are other people in the same house allowed to sign up with different emails
    1. Yes, members of the same household can sign up for Toluna.
  3. Can you earn points if you refer a friend?
    1. Yes, you will receive 500 points for each referral once your friend completes their Toluna registration.
  4. Do people get points for commenting on blog posts?
    1. At this time we do not offer points for commenting on our blog posts; however, we post blogs regularly that tell you about contests and opportunities to earn more points on Toluna.
  5. Do points still expire? How can we tell the point amounts that will be expiring? Will we be notified?
    1. Yes, points expire one year after they are posted to your account. You can check this each month by going to “Points” and selecting the appropriate date range. Or by clicking on this link: https://us.toluna.com/YourZone/points
    2. You will be notified about expiring points once you login to your account and also on the My Points page.
  6. Do you receive an actual gift card or code?
    1. Most rewards are distributed with an e-code that can also be used as a gift card if you print it out and bring into the store. However, please  check the rules and regulations for each reward offered in the Rewards Center
  7. Why did the points go up to redeem Paypal?

  8. How much is 100 points worth in United States Dollars?
    1. 100 points = $0.03
  9. Why do you collect information on race and ethnicity?
    1. We collect this information because our surveys may target certain demographics within your race or ethnicity. To better understand how Toluna collects, uses and shares your personal information, please review our privacy policy, which is availablehere.
  10. Do you give an anniversary bonus, such as being a member for a year?
    1. At this time we do not offer anniversary bonuses, but this feature may be added soon!
  11. How long has Toluna existed?
    1. Toluna was established in 2000.
  12. Are we ever told the results of the surveys?
    1. We cannot divulge the information we collect from surveys due to client confidentiality, however we do publish some of our Quick Surveys results which can be found on our Toluna Quick Surveys Twitter account: twitter.com/tolunaquick
  13. Is there a Canadian Toluna site?
    1. Yes, you can visit our Canadian site at ca.toluna.com
  14. If someone is having issues with using Toluna, how do they get help?
    1. You can contact our help desk, a link is located at the bottom of Toluna.com entitled “contact”
  15. Why do I not qualify for all surveys?
    1. Some surveys are looking for a very specific group on people who meet a very narrow set of demographic or other criteria. Sometimes, determining whether someone qualifies for a survey takes just a few questions other times, it may take more questions. Please know that we appreciate your participation and that even when you don’t qualify, your participation helps contribute to the success of the study.
  16. Are there any rules about adding photos that we find on the Internet but don’t own the right to?
    1. While we do not have a specific policy in place regarding this topic, we ask that member’s posts adhere to our Member Code of Conduct, and post only images and text that are appropriate for all audiences. As a good rule of thumb though – if you’re not sure you should use an image, don’t. Some images are copyrighted and you may be opening a can of worms by posting them online.
      1. Member Content and License: You hereby give a non-exclusive, perpetual, unlimited, worldwide, royalty-free right to Toluna to use for any purpose any content you submit to this Site, including the right to edit, copy, transmit, publish, display, modify, distribute, create derivative works from and develop such content and to transfer such content to third parties. You, not Toluna, will have sole responsibility and liability for all content you use, upload, post or submit to the Site, including on our message boards and in any Survey in which you participate, including the obligation to obtain any necessary approvals and authorizations required to post such content.

  1. I’ve never been able to test a product. Does living on the West Coast prevent my chances?
    1. Everyone has an equal opportunity to test products. We try our best to post the products at a time when all members have access to the information, and we select testers at random from all eligible entries
  2. Can I test products if I am from Canada?
    1. Unfortunately, test products are not currently available in Canada but we are working on this, and hope to add this feature soon.
  3. How many USA members does Toluna currently have?
    1. Currently, there are millions toluna members in the US

  1. How long does it take to get paid by check?
    1. Checks payments are processed each week, and we work to have them mailed within 3 weeks of your request date. Please do note however, that in some circumstances it may take up to 6 weeks for your payment to mail, although we do our best to limit the wait time.
  2. How often is the product testing?
    1. Product testing can be as frequents as every week, or every month. Please check the product testing page if you would like to participate in these events.
  3. Is there an incentive for testing products?
    1. Yes you do receive an incentive once you fill out the mandatory questionnaire or directions that come with the product you are testing.
  4. Is there any way to have a better chance at getting picked for product testing?
    1. Unfortunately the only option I can suggest it to fill out all of your profile surveys so that we can accurately determine if you are in the qualified demographic for the product to test. You can find the profile surveys here: https://us.toluna.com/interestsurveys
