Toluna Beginners Webinar: Questions and Answers
On September 30th, we held our very first webinar, taking our new and seasoned members through Toluna, from registration through content creation, and how to get the most out of your membership. We want to thank everyone who joined in the session, and provide answers to the questions we received from our participants.

Will there be any rewards for attending this webinar?
As a special bonus, yes, we will be awarding our members who attended the September 30th session 500 bonus points. These will be credited to your Toluna account by the end of this week.
You mentioned that it can take up to 6 weeks for points to post, but this is rare – how long does it typically take?
We do our best to credit our member’s accounts within 1-2 weeks of participating in our surveys, and some survey incentives are posted within 24 hours. We state within our terms that it may take up to 6 weeks in case we have a particular study which remains open for an extended period of time. You can always contact our help desk if you have questions about credits for specific studies.
Is PayPal the only way to redeem points for cash?
Currently, we offer both PayPal and Checks for our US members, however PayPal is the only cash option for our Canadian members. PayPal payments are available for a minimum redemption of $20.00 with 60,000 points, and checks are available for a minimum of $25.00 with 75,000 points.
How many points are equivalent to $1?
Our cash to point ratio is $1.00 = 3,000 points. Please note that our base survey incentive starts around 2,000 points and increases depending on the length and requirements of each survey.
I receive emails from 2 different [@Toluna.com] accounts. How do I know which ones are legit?
This is a good question. Toluna will send you emails from different internal accounts depending on the subject of the email. However, you will receive most communications, including survey invitations from firstname.lastname@example.org. If we are contacting you with news or rewards information you may also be contacted from email@example.com or TolunaRewards@toluna.com. A good rule of thumb: Emails from Toluna will be sent from the domain Toluna.com. If you do not see this, it’s not from us!
Can I invite my friends to join?
Yes you absolutely can invite your friends to join, in fact, we encourage it! Toluna makes it simple and easy to invite your friends through our form under your account settings. Click on your profile icon, select “account” and then “sharing preferences.” Here you will find a simple form that you can send to your friends. You can find this information also simply by clicking here: https://us.toluna.com/YourZone
It seems like 99% of the survey emails I receive, I’m not qualified for. Is this amount unusual?
This is not typical for our members. We offer plenty of surveys that apply to the general population, and others that are tailored for specific members based on age, income, education, etc. To receive invitations that are a better match for your unique demographics, and you are more likely to qualify for, please fill out your “Profile Surveys” which can be found under the Surveys menu and then click Profile Surveys. Fill out as many as you can. (Also, each Profile Survey you complete is worth a couple hundred points!)
Will Toluna offer lower dollar amounts for Paypal, say 30,000 pts for $10 or 15000 pts for $5, at some point in the future?
Currently, we are only offering PayPal in $20.00 increments, and at this time do not have any plans to change this amount. However, we are always working to improve our rewards selection, and add new and exciting offers for our members. To stay up to date with our offers, check out your Rewards Center often, located under the Explore tab in your account, and also follow our blog.
